A Pakistani Army captain was martyred during a security operation carried out on August 7 in the Hangu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to a statement released by the Inter‑Services Public Relations (ISPR). The raid, which was launched after intelligence indicated the presence of a terrorist cell, resulted in the elimination of seven militants who were reportedly backed by India.
During the assault, troops seized a cache of weapons and ammunition, effectively neutralising a key supply line for the insurgent group. The ISPR said that the operation disrupted a network that had been planning attacks in the region, thereby strengthening the security posture of the province.
