- The Chief of Defence Forces, General Munir, met with senior political figures from Balochistan in Quetta.
- He commended provincial leaders for their contribution to peace and stability in the province.
- The CDF warned that foreign‑backed hostile designs will be met with a decisive, forceful response.
- He called for a united front to counter anti‑national propaganda and protect Pakistan’s sovereignty.
In a meeting convened by the Inter‑Services Public Relations (ISPR) office, General Munir sat down with Balochistan’s chief ministers, members of the provincial assembly and other political notables. The gathering, held at the Governor’s House in Quetta, focused on consolidating the partnership between civilian authorities and the armed forces after months of dialogue aimed at curbing militancy and fostering development in the province.
During the interaction, the CDF praised the political leadership for their “constructive role” in promoting peace, noting that their outreach to local communities has helped reduce the frequency of violent incidents that have plagued the region for decades. He emphasized that sustained cooperation is essential to transform Balochistan into a zone of security and prosperity, especially given its strategic position along the Gwadar port and the China‑Pakistan Economic Corridor.
General Munir also highlighted a growing threat emanating from external actors seeking to destabilise Pakistan. He warned that “foreign‑backed inimical designs” are being propagated through coordinated media campaigns aimed at sowing discord among the populace. According to the CDF, these hostile narratives must be countered aggressively to preserve national unity, and any attempt to undermine the state will be answered with a decisive military response.
The statements come at a time when Islamabad is intensifying its civil‑military outreach in Balochistan, a province that has witnessed intermittent insurgency and calls for greater autonomy. By reinforcing ties with local politicians and underscoring a zero‑tolerance stance toward external interference, the defence establishment seeks to assure both the citizens of Balochistan and the broader Pakistani public that the nation’s territorial integrity remains uncompromised. Stakeholders were urged to remain vigilant and collaborative as the country confronts these challenges.
